| The Sardinia Cup is a special
Challenge Trophy for National Teams presented in 1978 by H.H. the Aga
Khan.
The event is organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda with the support of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV).

TEAMS  NOMINATIONS AND
ENTRIES
Each team may be composed
of a maximum of three yachts. Only the two best scorings of each team
will be taken into consideration for the team results. It is therefore
possible to enter teams with only two yachts.
Yachts making part of the teams are to be divided into the following
categories: National Teams are to be nominated by the National Authorities member
of the ISAF.
Each country may enter two national teams.
Teams from geographic areas may be accepted by the Organising Authority.
Each National Authority takes the responsibility that the nominated
yachts represent the Nation. The Organising Authority does not impose
limitation and/or obligations on crew nationality or residence.
Entries are to be received by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda not later
than 15th July 1998; eventual entries forwarded after that date may
be accepted by the Organising Committee prior to 10.00 hours on September
1st, 1998. Entries arriving after 15th July will be charged a 20% additional
fee.
The Organising Authority may accept substitutions in the composition
of the teams after that date, but changes shall not be made after the
start of the first race.

SQUADRE AMMISSIONI E ISCRIZIONI
Ogni squadra potrà
essere composta da un massimo di 3 imbarcazioni. Solo i due migliori risultati
saranno presi in considerazione per la classifica a squadre. E' pertanto
possibile l'iscrizione di squadre con due sole imbarcazioni.
Le imbarcazioni componenti le squadre dovranno essere suddivise nelle
seguenti categorie: Le squadre nazionali dovranno essere nominate dalle Autorità Nazionali
riconosciute dall'ISAF.
Ciascuna nazione può nominare due squadre.
Squadre di aree geografiche potranno essere accettate dal Comitato
Organizzatore.
E' responsabilità delle varie Autorità Nazionali che gli yacht nominati
rappresentino la propria nazione. Il Club organizzatore non impone limitazione
e/o imposizioni sulla nazionalità o residenza degli equipaggi.
Le iscrizioni dovranno pervenire allo Yacht Club Costa Smeralda entro
il 15 luglio 1998; il Comitato Organizzatore si riserva l'ammissione
di eventuali richieste d'iscrizione, pervenute dopo questa data ma comunque
entro le 10.00 del 1° settembre 1998. Per le iscrizioni successive al
15 luglio, la quota di partecipazione è maggiorata del 20%.
Il Comitato Organizzatore potrà accettare sostituzioni nella composizione
delle squadre dopo quella data, ma le varianti non potranno essere effettuate
dopo la partenza della prima regata.

REGISTRATION
Registration formalities
shall be completed by September 13th, 1998 at the YCCS Regatta Office,
signing the disclaimer form and delivering the crew list with the names
and weight of each crew member.
Italian competitors shall be in compliance with the Italian Sailing
Federation Rules for agonistic activities.

REGISTRAZIONE
La formalizzazione
delle iscrizioni dovrà essere completata presso la Segreteria Regate entro
il 13 settembre 1998, firmando la dichiarazione di responsabilità e consegnando
l'elenco equipaggio con i nomi ed i pesi di ciascun componente.
Gli equipaggi italiani devono essere in regola con la normativa dell'attività
agonistica federale.

The Organising Authority and/or the Race Committee reserve the right
to modift the programme because of weather conditions or other reasons.

REGULATIONS
In case of conflict between any of the above Rules and/or Regulations
and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
YACHTS with LOA in excess of 80 feet will be exempted from compliance
with ISAF Rule 52 (Manua Power) and IMS Rule 203.11 (Carbon).
The event is classified as Category B Appendix G of the RRS.
The Organising Authority may require all yachts to display a decal
representing the event's sponsor on both sides of the hull in the forward
area from 10.00 hours on Monday 14th September until two hours after
the finishing time of the last race.
The decal will be provided by the Organising Committee. Furthermore
a sponsor pennant may also be provided to be exposed during the Series.
The Organising Committee may request to one or more of the Classes
making part of the teams for the Sardinia Cup 1998 to install an Orbcomm
satellite monitor equipment, whose installation is very simple. The
station is constituted by a small antenna and an apparatus with a total
weight of 1.4 kgs needing 12 V power connected to the on board plant.
The aforesaid station has been studied for not interfering with the
instrumentation and the various communication equipment on board. The
Organising Committee will provide for the installation.

REGOLAMENTI
Le Istruzioni di Regata avranno valore prevalente in caso di conflitto
tra i Regolamenti sopra citati.
Agli yacht con LOA superiore a 80 piedi non è applicabile la
Regola 52 dell'ISAF (Forza manuale) e la regola IMS 203.11 (Carbonio).
Le regate della Sardinia Cup saranno considerate di categoria B Appendice
G delle RRS.
Il Comitato Organizzatore potrà richiedere alle imbarcazioni di esporre
a prora, su ambedue i lati dello scafo, un adesivo rappresentante il
nome dello sponsor della manifestazione. L'adesivo dovrà, in questo
caso, essere esposto dalle ore 10:00 di lunedì 14 settembre sino a 2
ore dopo la fine dell'ultima regata.
L'adesivo verrà fornito dal Comitato Organizzatore. Potrà inoltre essere
fornita una bandiera dello sponsor da esporsi durante la manifestazione.
Il Comitato Organizzatore potrà richiedere a una o più Classi
delle imbarcazioni facenti parte delle squadre iscritte alla Sardinia
Cup di installare un apparato di monitoraggio satellitare Orbcomm. La
stazione, la cui installazione è molto semplice, è costituita
da una piccola antenna e da un apparato per un peso complessivo di 1,4
kg alimentato a 12 V collegato all'impianto di bordo. La suddetta stazione
è studiata per non interferire con la strumentazione e le varie
apparecchiature di comunicazione di bordo. Tale installazione è
a cura del Comitato Organizzatore.

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee for each yacht is USD 500 payable to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda upon registration.

La quota d'iscrizione per ciascuna imbarcazione è di USD 500, pagabili allo Yacht Club Costa Smeralda all'atto dell'iscrizione.

RATING
A copy of the rating
certificate is to be sent together with the nomination or entry and another
copy is to be kept on board for inspection.
The original certificate, duly signed, shall be presented to the Organising
Authority prior to 10.00 hours on 14th September 1998.
No change to the rating certificates will be allowed after the above
specified time.

STAZZA
Copia del certificato
di stazza dovrà essere inviato assieme alla domanda d'iscrizione e altra
copia dovrà essere tenuta a bordo per controllo.
L'originale del certificato di stazza, debitamente firmato, dovrà
essere consegnato al Comitato Organizzatore non più tardi delle ore
10.00 del 14 settembre 1998.
Non saranno consentiti variazioni al certificato di stazza successive
a tale orario.

MEASUREMENT CONTROLS
Yachts shall be available
for measurement inspections at Porto Cervo, Port East, prior to 10.00
hours on 13th September 1998.
The measurers will be available at Porto Cervo Marina from 12th September
1998.
It is the responsibility of each yacht to check and observe the measurement
controls programme which will be posted on the official notice board.
Inspections may be carried out at any time during the races.

CONTROLLI DI STAZZA
Gli yacht dovranno
essere disponibili a Porto Cervo, Porto Est, non oltre le ore 10.00 del
13 settembre 1998 per i controlli di stazza.
Gli stazzatori saranno disponibili a Porto Cervo Marina dal 12 settembre
1998.
È responsabilità di ciascuno yacht di controllare e os-servare il
programma dei controlli di stazza, che verrà affisso al Quadro Ufficiale
delle Comunicazioni.
Controlli potranno essere effettuati in qualunque momento durante
le regate.

Measurement protests from competitors shall be lodged prior to 2 hours before the start of the first race.

INTERNATIONAL JURY
An International Jury will be nominated according to RRS Appendix Q. The decisions of the International Jury are not subject to appeal. RRS 70.4.
